Cancer diet nutrition, cancer nutrition, prostate cancer and nutrition
Here I will be discussing cancer diet nutrition, prostate cancer and nutrition, cancer prevention as well as breast cancer nutrition, but I have also made a page called
Beating Cancer With Nutrition
So if you already have cancer and are looking for cancer nutrition information because of that, you can go directly to that page by clicking on that link.
Cancer Diet Nutrition - Cancer prevention?
I want to start with a conclusion made by a group of doctors pointing to major breast cancer and ovarian cancer studies, made by Journal of the American Dietetic Association, Colorado State University plus a Chinese breast cancer study made in Singapore, where more than 34,000 women participated: "Animal derived products are simply not needed in our diet. We are better off without them."
Researchers have found that many types of cancer can be prevented by eating lots of (organic) fruits and vegetables, leading a healthy lifestyle, as well as reducing your meat consumption and possibly also supplementing your diet with vitamin D. Deep breathing is also important, because the cells need oxygen to keep away from cancer.
So, a good way to prevent cancer would be to eat a fruit and veggie based diet, which is naturally high in vitamins, minerals and cancer-fighting phytonutrients, in combination with leading a healthy lifestyle (no smoking and regular exercise).
Now let's take a closer look at cancer causes to further discuss cancer prevention and cancer diet nutrition.
Cancer causes can be measured as follows:
5-10% genes and 90-95% environment.
Environment is diet, smoking, obesity, infections, alcohol abuse and others. See the percentages here:
30-35% diet
25-30% smoking (also if you are a passive smoker)
The remaining percentages are divided up into the following groups:
- lack of exercise/obesity
- infections
- alcohol
- others, could be for example repeated exposure to chemicals or radiation
As you can see many of the causes can be controlled!
Since 25-30% is smoking - give it up! Also forbid anyone to smoke inside your house.
And 30-35% diet... what are you waiting for?
A quote by Dr Sears from the book The Family Nutrition Book, chapter The anti-cancer diet: "Increasing your daily consumption of fruits and vegetables can greatly lower your cancer risk".
Sounds good to me!
Check out this video clip I found on this subject:
Which fruits and vegetables would be best to eat for cancer prevention?
Actually all fruits and veggies are great as cancer diet nutrition / prevention. But the more colorful the fruit or vegetable is, the better!
So when buying veggies for your salad, choose dark green spinach over pale iceberg lettuce. And when buying apples, choose the dark red ones instead of the yellow or green variety.
- Buy fruits and vegetables in all possible colors and not always the same ones.
- Eat as many fruit and vegetables as possible during the day.
That way you are building a strong immune system that can protect you.
Did you know that the nutrients present in fruits and vegetables act as small soldiers? They help the cells fight off any enemies (toxins that can make a gene or cell turn cancerous).
The cells also need these nutrients to get the strength to act like "repairmen" many times a day. They locate and repair any genes and other cells that need it. They basically keep cells from becoming cancerous. Which is a great thing! We need to help them by ensuring we get all the nutrients we need to have the strongest immune system possible. That is why learning about cancer diet nutrition is important.
Fruits and vegetables can do that for us if we just make sure we get them into our bodies first.
Oh how we need those colorful things!
Another tip from "The family nutrition book" by Dr Sears: "Eating a large colorful salad every day, is one of the healthiest habits you could ever get".
Add to that a breakfast consisting of loads of fruit and you are on the right path! Also leave out all junk food, meat and milk.
It would be best to get your immune system up and stay up. So it can fight off any damaged cells. To do this it would be wise to consider starting a way of eating which is called "Raw Food".
There is also a cancer diet nutrition book I would recommend to you - if you are interested in the relationship between eating habits and cancer (cancer diet nutrition). It is called "The Dries Cancer Diet" and you can get it at amazon or right here:
I want to share with you a study regarding vitamin D and cancer prevention where they also talk about breast cancer nutrition or actually prevention. It was done by researchers at the UCSD School of Medicine and Moores Cancer Center.

to see a video with the results of the study.
Another study - a prostate cancer and cancer diet nutrition study - has shown that men who eat around ten tomatoes per day have a much lower risk of getting this type of cancer. Cooked tomatoes seems to be more effective in cancer prevention than raw. But if you are a raw foodist, don't worry, just put your tomatoes in the blender for a few minutes and that will do the trick!
A cancer genomics expert named Peter Campbell says most mutations in patients of a study he has been part of, could be traced to the effects of chemicals in cigarette smoke (lung cancer) or ultraviolet light (melanoma).
Yogis and others say every day deep breathing is very important in order to create a oxygen-rich environment where cancerous cells can't thrive. If you could fit in some time each day to take about 30 deep breaths it would be great. Do like this: Take a deep breath through your nose. Put your hand on your stomach and feel how it expands. Keep your breath until you have counted to 10. Exhale through your mouth. Do this about 30 times.
Hope you found this page "cancer diet nutrition" helpful.
