The unhealthy aspect has to do with the use of unhealthy oils, chemicals and too much soy sauce. In Chinese restaurants they use meat tenderizers for their meat. Meat tenderizer is a chemical and something I would not recommend anyone to consume. These oils are factory made oils and are very unhealthy oils. They also cook with with excessive soy sauce. Soy sauce is full of salt, goitrogens and phytic acid. Anyone who lives a health conscious lifestyle should avoid Chinese fast food. All Chinese restaurants use large amounts of soy sauce, it is the main source of seasoning in all of their recipes. Soy contains "goitrogens", which depress thyroid function. Goitrogen is a substance that interferes with iodine intake. The regular consumption of soy sauce could lead to goiter. Goiter is enlargement of the thyroid gland caused by iodine deficiency. Soy sauce is made from soybeans, which are known to have a very high level of contamination by pesticides. In addition to the goitrogens and pesticide contamination, soy sauce is high in an ingredient called, "phytic" acid. Phytic acid is a substance that blocks the body's ability to absorb essential minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and zinc. Chinese in their country, have a diet that contains very little amounts of dietary fat. The actual Chinese diet is high in green tea, cooked or steamed vegetables with brown or white rice and lean portions of beef and chicken.
