Daily Vitamin Supplements
Do you need to take daily vitamin supplements?
As you might guess, I think the best way to get vitamins and minerals directly from fresh fruits and vegetables. You just can't get the same benefits by eating a daily vitamin nutrition supplement. So my answer to the question above is: no, you don't need to take vitamin supplements daily if you eat fruits and veggies every day. However, there are some vitamins, like folic acid, a water soluble B vitamin present in for example spinach, where supplementation would be wise - as it is quite hard to get the daily folic acid requirement from foods alone. If you are a vegetarian B12 is also a good supplement to take. I also give my son, and occasionally myself, a daily
omega 3
supplement. Research has shown that Omega 3 is very good for developing brains as well as the memory and concentration part in adult brains. This oil cannot be found in much else than fish, so if you don’t eat much fish a supplement is a solution. Another supplement that is very important during the winter months is

Some vitamin supplements are for sure good to take. But the healthiest choice would be to eat lots and lots of fruits and vegetables - every day. Eating a synthetic powder is just not the same thing. But of course if you feel you are not eating enough fruits and vegetables and if you are unsure of which vitamins you are not getting enough of, you could talk to a dietitian or a nutritionist. She or he could for sure advice you if you need to take a daily vitamin supplement or not, depending on how you current eating habits look like.
