Nutrition Facts for Fast Food
My friend Cristina tells her story about her family and fast food: "When I was young I couldn't live without fast food and junk food. I would lick the inside of the chips bag just to have the last taste of the chips! But when my mom experienced a complication due to her high uric acids I got afraid. The doctor said it was due to over consumption of salt and unhealthy foods. My mom still suffers from this. In her 20's my mom used to love eating fast food and junk food but now she regrets those days. Because I was so worried, the doctor explained to me that even if you are eating fast food a lot, it does not mean you will get the same sickness as my mom. It depends on the amounts of fast food and junk food you eat and how long you have been eating it regularly. Because it takes time." Another disease that could develop over time if we don't care about what we put in our mouths is diabetes. And diabetes is not at all fun to have... So the best thing to do would be to stay away from junk food all together!

If we eat enough of those and leave out the bad stuff (sugar, salt, white flour, breakfast cereals, chocolate, candy, cake and all fast food) our bodies are cleaned slowly and naturally. The earlier we start eating healthy, the better. But its never too late! If you want a head start, you could also do a cleanse, by eating only fruits and fruit juices or vegetables juices for some days - to detoxify faster. But it can also be dangerous to do a cleanse if you don't do it the right way. So as I said above, to be on the safe side it is probably better to cleanse more slowly, without too many unpleasant detox symptoms, by starting to eat healthier. One way to eat really healthy is to make the base of your diet fruits and vegetables (salads, soups, smoothies etc.) and add some nuts and seeds (great mineral content!) and have some dried fruits as snacks here and there.
