What I would really like to buy at the moment is a book on raw food. I am trying to learn how to "un-cook" (if that's a word). I will be looking into which book would be the best to buy. I want a simple book that is not too focused on trying to imitate cooked food dishes like some raw food books are. I also want a book that focuses more on "clean" recipes without so many ingredients and no added salt... I know some raw foodists add salt to their food, and of course everyone makes their own choices. But I rather sprinkle lemon juice on my food. Lately I have been doing some experiments in the kitchen. One day I wanted to make raw "pasta", and I found this really good kale in the supermarket I thought would make a good pasta substitute. Why I say "really good" is because it really really tasted so good! It was soft and easy to chew (I know some kale are not..) and it had a mild taste. So I cut it in small pieces and used it as I would normally use pasta. I didn't cook it at all, but I mixed the cut up kale and some red pesto in a bowl, stirred really well, and then ate it. It was sooo good. I ate it for 3 days in a row for lunch cuz I liked it so much! Now I would love to learn how to make raw pesto. If I find a good recipe I will post it here on this site so you can try it out too :)
